The US is deliberately protecting terrorists, says Cuban Foreign Minister
On Saturday, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez condemned the protection afforded by the United States to those who finance, organise, incite and train terrorists to carry out terrorist acts against Cuba.
On Facebook, the minister stated that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, organiser of a ministerial meeting against so-called far-left terrorism, is deliberately turning a blind eye to the protection enjoyed by terrorists on US soil.
This last point, Mr Rodríguez emphasised, concerns “primarily the state of Florida, from which he himself hails”.
He recalled that these groups, protected by the US government on its territory and by politicians such as himself, have murdered 3,478 Cubans and wounded 2,099.
“Furthermore, they have organised more than 600 assassination attempts against the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, with the complicity of the CIA,” he stated.
In the same publication, the Cuban minister questioned the US government’s inaction regarding the dismantling of terrorist networks based in the United States, despite the information shared by Cuba with the US police forces.
“How is it possible that a terrorist cell, armed with military-grade weapons and powerful explosives, was able to prepare, train and set off for Cuba just a few months ago, with complete impunity?”, he asked.
Later, he asked: “Who are the real terrorists?”
